Melba Ariza, a PHD student of Psychology in Queens, will be conducting a study of students who have learned and practiced meditation. One dozen experienced students in grades 6-8 will be included in this study. The results will be published here, on our front page blackboard, when they are available.
Based on data derived from adult studies, Dr. Ariza theorizes that children who meditate, even once in a while, have more peace of mind, better concentration, and demonstate more compassion for others.
